Believing there is no God gives me more room for belief in family, people, love, truth, beauty, sex, Jell-O and all the other things
Excellent. Too often the focus of atheism (by those both for and against it) is toward the negative- what does not or cannot exist. When the beauty of this world is all there is, it somehow makes the world much more beautiful.
I agree, and I think that perception is why atheists are more reviled in American culture than almost any other group. More of this type of discussion would go a long way to change that.
