The U.S. is still one of a handful of nations on the planet that bans people with HIV from entering the country.
That’s right. If you are not a citizen and have HIV (no matter how you got it), with only a few very rare waivers, you can never set foot in this country. Not to work. Not to live. Not to tour the Statue of Liberty. Not even to visit a sick friend.
I mention this because there is legislation pending that might finally end this ban. It’s worth keeping on eye on.
